CALSTART is expanding its Bus and Innovative Mobility Midwest team! We are #hiring an Innovative Mobility Project Manager to further CALSTART's mission and to build the clean transportation technology industry while improving air quality, slowing climate change and creating jobs within the Midwest Region. This position will be forward facing, and the candidate will support and manage high impact clean transportation projects with a particular focus on the transit market. In this role, the candidate will leverage their interpersonal, project management, technical, and clean transportation skills to support the successful completion and delivery of transit-related projects.

Additionally, the Project Manager will:

Project Management: Support the management of zero-emission transit-related projects by ensuring projects are on budget, on schedule, and within cost. Duties will also include attending regularly scheduled stakeholder meetings and reporting on project successes.

Technical Analysis: Utilizing strong analytical skills, support development of (where applicable) fleet transition analytical tools in support zero-emission projects. Analysis could include leading or supporting route modeling, fleet transition planning, calculating total cost of ownership, identifying funding mechanisms, developing fleet transition roadmaps, or other similar tools and analyses to support the successful delivery of zero-emission technologies, including zero-emission transit vehicles, charging station infrastructure, and other related technologies.

Project Execution: Support execution of project-based activities defined by contracts and statements of work, as well as supporting activities that further CALSTART's mission, such as developing knowledge products, deliverables, key tools, and products.

Stakeholder Outreach and Communications: Using strong interpersonal communications skills, support outreach activities to develop strong working relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders, while also identifying new business opportunities to support regional growth and to further CALSTART's mission.

Business Development: Support the identification of new business opportunities, pertaining to zero-emission transportation-related projects, to support the growth of regional operations, the national team, and CALSTART's mission.

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in business, Environmental Science, related field or relevant work experience other related fields or equivalent years of experience

•Experience managing and supporting projects from conception to closeout with experience in working with the public transit industry

•Understanding of transportation electrification, energy efficiency, sustainability, advanced transportation technologies, and alternative fuels

•Experience coordinating and communicating information and key metrics across a large portfolio of projects

•Ability to create, manage and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders

•Experience with developing effective strategies to support direct outreach, print collateral & promotional communications, online communications.

•Strong project and time management skills

•A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

•Project Management Certifications such as PMP

•Experience developing request for proposals (RFPs) and securing government-based funding opportunities

•Experience working with transit bus operations, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and energy storage solutions

CALSTART includes the complete salary range amount ($62,000-$89,000) of the job announced. We determine pay based on education, experience, internal equity, and any other factors relevant to the job. Pay for this role will typically be from $62,000-$68,000.
