The Youth Program Outreach Coordinator will play a central role in supporting the many youth development efforts of the Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing. The Youth Coordinator will support in the design and implementation of the Strength in Youth project and provide support to the Centers' other youth development efforts including Good for Media and the allcove youth advisory groups. The main role of the Youth Coordinator will be to support the Strength in Youth project including undertaking a key role in the curriculum that will be designed by the project team in collaboration with youth co-designers embedded in youth culture, networks, and organizations.The Youth Program Outreach Coordinator will implement the Strength in Youth community outreach plan, with support from the project lead, the Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing team, and youth partners. The curriculum is a part of the Community Initiated Care initiative, led by the Well Being Trust foundation, to de-centralize resources outside of the traditional mental health models, and instead placing them directly into youth networks. The Youth Outreach Coordinator will support in the development of strategies to engage key youth and organizational partners to support the youth-centered design of the Strength in Youth curriculum. The Youth Outreach Coordinator will work to establish and maintain partnerships with key youth and organizational partners, as well as provide support (resourcing, scheduling, facilitating) to the team in support of all aspects of the program development, including the focus group survey and curriculum design phases. Following the curriculum development, this position will support pilot implementation of the curriculum and support the dissemination and evaluation processes in partnership with Wellbeing Trust.Supporting the feedback and the continual youth input and curriculum design processes will be a central initial part of this role, as well as helping to support responses to requests from media, community organizations and individuals interested in learning more about the Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing's youth development efforts and the Strength in Youth project.Duties include:
Essential Job Functions: Strength in Youth Project· Performs initial orientation support ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and youth-friendly experience for young people as they engage with the Strength in Youth project team.· Assists young people with completion focus groups surveys and in interactions with the project team in the design and launch of the Strength in Youth project.· Works collaboratively with the Strength in Youth team and its key partners to develop outreach plans and to meet pre-established goals.· Facilitate focus groups and meeting spaces with young people and supportive adults to gather feedback in support of creating peer to peer curriculum.· Collect and organize feedback data collected from youth focus groups.· Administers focus group surveys as outlined in the community outreach plan.· Calendar meetings with key collaborative partners and facilitate scheduling and follow up communication.· Engage with youth-centered community organizations on a state and national level to build interest in the Strength in Youth project and to engage youth in the focus group survey process.· Implement the Strength in Youth outreach plan, with support from the Strength in Youth Project Lead and Youth Development Manager· Build and maintain relationships with local, state and national level youth organizations and networks to support the curriculum design and feedback process.· Engages with Center for Youth and Mental Health and Wellbeing staff to problem solve potential project barriers and build role capacity.· Collaborate with the Central allcove Team Youth Advisory Group (YAG) to ensure the Strength in Youth project isin alignment early-on with youth needs. · In collaboration with the Strength in Youth team, supports community outreach by conducting presentations virtually and in-person, as needed.· Participates in team meetings and trainings necessary for professional development and required to meet grant funding requirements.· Completes and maintains documentation that tracks partnership outreach engagement efforts and data collection.· Maintains security of organizational, youth data and feedback.Essential Job Functions: Youth Development· Create collaborative opportunities between Center youth development efforts and Strength in Youth.· Support ongoing Center youth development efforts and create cross-programs opportunities for youth engagement with allcove, Good for Media, and other youth development initiatives.· Builds and maintains an authentic relationship with young people and supports their engagement and participation· Collect and maintain an up-to-date list of potential and active youth and organizational partners.· Leads or co-facilitates focus groups surveys, workshops and events by supporting youth engagement and participation in related activities.* - Other duties may also be assignedDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant experience in a youth development and/or a community outreach role.● Bilingual (Spanish/Vietnamese/Mandarin) preferred.● Experience working with young people who are seeking support with their wellbeing.● Strong knowledge of youth needs, culture, and networks.● Experience working with BIPOC youth populations in a virtual and/or community setting.● Experience designing and implementing youth curriculum in a community.● Experience working with youth advocacy and youth development organizations.● Strong understanding of Child and Adult Protective Services rules and regulations, HIPAA, mandated reporting, and limits of confidentiality preferred.● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.● Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.● Fingerprinting and background checks as required by Stanford University.● TB clearance required.● Valid driver's license and insurance required.● Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required. Skills and Abilities:
● Initiate and maintain supportive relationships with young people in a virtual and in a 1:1 setting.● Aware of the specific needs of youth culture and modes of communications.● Is youth-centered and able to identify youth needs in the moment and respond in a compassionate and responsive manner to support the young person.● Demonstrates compassionate behavior in interactions with young people with an emphasis on good listening skills and a capacity for responding to youth needs in the moment.● Capable of observing and responding to youth who may need additional support or follow through.● Conflict resolution and motivational interviewing skills.● Knowledge base of youth curriculum development and holistic approaches to supporting youth wellbeing.● Able to perform job duties independently, with direct support from the Project Lead.● Skilled in responding to a high volume of correspondence in a timely manner (e-mail, social media, instant messaging apps, etc)● Experience utilizing best practices in engaging with youth advocacy and youth development organizations and networks● Ability to approach difficult youth interactions using youth centered approaches that respect the youth's identity, lived experience and goals.● Strong knowledge base of models and systems that support youth on a state and national level.● Strong knowledge base of systemic issues and risk factors facing BIPOC youth population.● Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to gather and process information to support the Strength in Youth project and its team.● Strong communication skills: ability to speak, listen, and write clearly, thoroughly, and professionally.● Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, accountability, reliability, and punctuality.● Competency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as graphic design and project management applications.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 - $85,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
