About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to develop an in depth understanding of the client's wealth and personal goals and provide solutions to help them meet those goals.

This role is specifically geared towards our Talent Acceleration Program (TAP) which is a comprehensive leadership development opportunity for experienced professionals interested in a career in Wealth Management. The position will focus on investment management for existing bank clients with an emphasis on customer facing service delivery. Each talent acceleration opening is geared toward a long-term career at Commerce with advancement and leadership potential at the core of the program objectives. Individuals selected for this opportunity will learn hand's-on from an executive mentor/sponsor and experienced group of wealth management team members with an eye towards meeting or exceeding structured learning, development, and performance goals. Commerce is committed to providing the long-term training and resources necessary for success in these roles while leveraging our new team members' diversity of thought, background, and experience for the betterment of the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the overall client experience and deliver comprehensive advice and customized wealth management solutions for high-net-worth clients and families
  • Identify client goals using a consultative, client-focused approach and develop plans to help clients meet those needs
  • Manage a portfolio of relationships comprised of fiduciary, IRA and investment management clients
  • Develop comprehensive plans with the client's professional advisors and partners
  • Collaborate with internal partners to identify and service unique client needs
  • Leverage the expertise of internal partners and expert resources to ensure integrated delivery of investment, fiduciary, tax, estate planning, insurance, lending, credit and banking services to meet the client's goals and objectives
  • Expected to pursue CFP and/or CFTA
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Familiarity with the wealth management industry including investments, financial planning, trusts, taxes, insurance, or other related services.
  • Excellent relationship management, networking, and business development skills
  • Ability to maintain a client centric focus and desire to exceed client expectations
  • Ability to expand customer relationships
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced presentation skills with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required (Legal, Accounting, Taxation, Insurance, or other finance related)
  • Formal or informal prior leadership experience
  • Commerce Bank's driving record criteria: ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
