Job Description: Warehouse Supervisor

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will effectively assist in managing and oversee the day-to-day activities of one or more warehouse operational function(s) and supervise and direct the work of multiple employees. Utilize discretion and independent judgment to manage efficiency and profitability, while fostering a fair and congenial employment environment that encourages positive employee relations and supports retention. Monitor, manage, and direct work practices to ensure that they adhere to all applicable Federal, State, Local and Industry regulatory standards and Ice Cream Specialties policies and practices. Warehouse functions may include: selecting, loading, shipping, receiving, ordering product, safety, sanitation, replenishment, working and training employees and product storage processes. Other responsibilities would include the delivery of product to local retailers or assist in delivering product to our satellite locations. CDL is a plus, the company will help train the right individual to obtain the license.


*This is a day shift position. Full-time with benefits. OT eligible.

$15-$16/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Managing and supervising the daily activities of Ice Cream Specialties associates in the fulfillment of customer orders and general warehouse operations.
  • Opening and closing of the facility/Office and warehouse
  • Saturday availability is required. (order fulfillment, check Truck and Warehouse temperatures)
  • Enter Daily purchases
  • Schedule inbound deliveries from multiple vendors
  • Coordinate and schedule outbound loads to local cross docks and intercompany locations
  • Maintain Facility/order and management of cleaning supplies/Route Racks/Pallets/Truck Tires/Uniforms/Gloves
  • Instruct and provide oversight to warehouse associates in the proper execution of all established quality, safety and sanitation practices of warehouse operations.
  • Supervise associates to ensure all customer orders are loaded properly and all accompanying paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Supervise associates to verify proper rotation of product based on code dating, monitor product segregation and slotting of warehoused products.
  • Ensure Associates handle products properly to minimize damage and preserve quality.
  • Monitor all Warehouse equipment to ensure it is operational & that sufficient equipment is on hand to handle daily work load.
  • Use discretion and judgment to conduct a variety of safety, quality, shrink and operational audits and encourage a sense of responsibility and ownership in the results of these audits in the attitudes of subordinate associates.
  • Maximize labor utilization and minimize labor expense by monitoring and evaluating workforce requirements and making decisions in collaboration with Branch Manager regarding associates' overtime hours.
  • Collaborate with other leaders in the employment process, including making decisions, suggestions, and/or recommendations as to the hiring, counseling, discipline, advancement, promotion, and/or termination of associates.
  • Coach, mentor and guide associates in the execution of personal development plans.
  • Utilize progressive coaching and counseling concepts according to established policies and procedures to provide continuous feedback on performance, increase employee retention and improve employee relations.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to associates pertaining to employee relations issues, interpretation of Company policies and procedures, and compliance to applicable employment laws.
  • Conduct accident investigation per company guidelines, and use judgment and discretion to make findings and document them.
  • Accompany injured Associates to the hospital and may administer post-accident drug screening as required.
  • Monitor product inventory supply levels and participate in end of month inventory reconciliation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • 1-3 years of related warehouse experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • A CDL preferred but will train the right candidate
  • Demonstrated Leadership abilities required.
  • Team Lead or Supervisory experience is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse safety regulatory standards.
  • Basic proficiency with personal computer operations.
  • MS Office applications preferred.
  • Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems; voice recognition, Inventory control, Labor Management is a plus.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing skills required.
  • Demonstrated Human Relation skills sufficient to communicate performance expectations and motivate and retain staff members.
