Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Video & Digital Content Specialist is responsible for the production and editing of short video projects with a focus on storytelling and marketing Boise State University's fundraising messages to external audiences. This position will be responsible for ensuring video and other content is posted on multi-channel digital platforms, including University Advancement's YouTube channels, to ensure maximum reach through a strategic communications plan.

We work to build relationships and support for the university by developing and nurturing donor-centered relationships and stewarding gifts made in support of Boise State. Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees. Typically hold a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Essential Functions:
60% of Time the Video & Digital Content Specialist must
• Work as director/producer for the division
• Strategic collaboration on all division messaging with the communications team, and execution from concept to completion
• Manage production shoots, including digital media for distribution of content in various formats for broadcast, web, and mobile platforms utilizing cameras for highlight shooting, storytelling shots, and general content gathering.
• Coordinate and archive footage through proper labeling
• Edit and create post-production videos that engage Boise State University alumni, donors, and friends to become more engaged with the university, and donate to causes that meet donor interest and university needs.
• Oversee and develop the work schedule for student videographer

35% of the time:

• Collaborate with the senior director for marketing and annual giving on the digital content strategy (social media, website, email, etc.) for the division
• Assist the senior director for marketing and annual giving with social media posting on the division's social media channels
• Provide guidelines and/or training materials to the division on the best practices for capturing video or photo from their phones in the absence of the video and digital content specialist.

5% Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Project management
• Knowledge of marketing strategies

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite or similar software product
• Working knowledge of current videography styles, techniques, technology, and cinematic video trends, as well as experience using video to achieve marketing and communications goals
• Experience with social media and multimedia marketing techniques
• General knowledge of online video marketing
• Proficient in field production techniques including audio and lighting
• Ability to recognize technical issues and troubleshoot/standardize production practices to be disseminated to the video team and student videographers
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a part of a team
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience or equivalent

Salary range starts at $50,000 and is commensurate with experience.
