The BigFuture team is committed to supporting all students to make the right first step post high school. BigFuture reaches over 7M students each year and is the leading free resource for College, Scholarship, and Career Exploration. BigFuture allows students to demystify the college going process, unlock options to afford college, and explore careers that connect to their skills and interests. In addition to the student facing platform, the team manages a service that fosters rich interactions between students and Higher Education institutions. These institutions look across the 25,000 high schools to round out their classes and reach a broad student population.

The Recruitment and Enrollment Solutions (RES) team within BigFuture is made up of 15 dedicated professionals with a laser focus on the sales and support of College Board's market leading Search solutions. Through consultative sales and customer success management methodologies, we serve over 1,500 Higher Education institutions each year, helping them to optimize their use of Search to realize their desired outcomes and objectives. The RES team also engages with the leading enrollment consultant groups that work with our client institutions.

About the Opportunity

As the Vice President of Sales of our Recruitment and Enrollment Solutions team, you are energized by the opportunity to develop and implement a sales and service strategy that enables our team to achieve and exceed sales, revenue, and retention goals for products that provide innovative recruitment and enrollment solutions to Higher Education institutions. You are equally as enthusiastic about the chance to help a wide and diverse set of students be seen by colleges, thus providing new access and opportunities to a wide set of students. You believe in the triple bottom line as you look to create mission, member, and margin value, the last of which enables College Board to reinvest in providing outstanding best in class services and solutions for Higher Education. Your experience in higher education enrollment management, deep knowledge of current enrollment issues and top of the funnel recruitment strategies enable you to communicate effectively with professionals in the education industry and build new relationships with institutional decision makers and thought leaders within this space.

In this role, you will:

Sales Design & Implementation (60%)

  • Develop the outreach component of go-to-market plans that build effective relationships with institutional decision-makers and operational contacts in targeted colleges/universities to achieve and surpass sales goals
  • Utilizing customer success management or similar methodologies, design, orchestrate and execute a service plan in support of users of College Board enrollment management solutions to optimize usage and maximize retention
  • Play a critical role in the development of communications around product launches, releases, and enhancements, resulting in activities that are aligned across adjacent areas.

Sales Strategy & Communication (20%)
  • Provide strategic direction and oversee the execution of a sales process from initial contact to close of sale, utilizing tools to monitor and track opportunities, measure team and individual performance and evaluate ROI
  • Maintain working knowledge of competing products and competitors to inform strategic messaging and differentiation of College Board solutions in the market
  • Develop and execute a regular cadence of activities to gather, distill, and distribute user and competitor market intel to internal stakeholders

Team Leadership & Management (20%)
  • Effectively manage three direct reports to ensure they are engaged and working effectively toward accomplishing goals
  • Design and implement an onboarding and training process to orient new staff and provide continuous training for existing staff
  • Provide the leadership necessary to deliver results across the team
  • Drive the overall performance management plan within the unit to impact team engagement

About You

You have:
  • 10+ years of experience in sales with a strong focus selling enrollment solutions in Higher Ed and/or EdTech
  • Deep understanding of the enrollment services landscape, trends, and market
  • Strong experience leading and managing diverse Sales teams
  • Understanding of the fit between product, marketing, sales and service strategies and their applications within Higher Education
  • Demonstrated ability developing sales strategies that are effective in closing sales
  • Demonstrated success managing complex sales situations
  • Demonstrated technical skill and knowledge of current technology platforms and delivery models within Higher Education
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and business principles
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver presentations and effectively facilitate meetings
  • Ability to manage a complicated and multi-faceted budget
  • Demonstrated ability to use standard CRM and business software
  • This position requires occasional travel (up to 15%)

  • We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact. The salary range for a new employee in this position is $200,000 to $325,000. The salary offer of an individual candidate within this range is specific to their location and qualifications.
