Temp Designer, Women's Ready-to-Wear

DESCRIPTION

The Designer partners with the Design Director and supplier design teams to execute the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by creating and executing original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs, drive sales, and ensure the timely execution of each stage in the process. Is passionate about style and loves fashion, with an ability to put themselves in the customer's shoes. Category: Women's Ready-to-Wear, Contemporary Brands.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Research and identify trend directions; create digital concept/mood boards, shop stores; perform competitive analysis; aid in fabric board & digital presentation boards creation
* Contribute to the execution of seasonal development in the context of the larger assortment and cost structure
* Aid in selecting original artwork and go-forward silhouettes for a cohesive, brand-right, and balanced assortment
* Support organization and on-time delivery of all design-led processes, i.e. presentations, sample reviews, lookbook creation

OPERATIONS & RESULTS
* Collaborate with suppliers virtually and in person
* Design/develop according to line plans, sales needs and emerging trends; ensure timely execution of product development calendar
* Create sketches in Illustrator or by hand; develop tech packs as needed
* Review, color, photoshop 3D bodies or photographs as needed
* Attend fittings and support as needed
* Contribute to original print selection and development process as needed

RELATIONSHIPS
* Daily Communication with internal and external partners, including brand, technical design, product development, merchandising, and suppliers
* Build collaborative relationships with suppliers and cross-functional partners

SKILLS
* Background in Design/Art with experience in the Contemporary apparel market preferred
* Proficient in Adobe AI & PS; Windows PowerPoint, hand sketching (Adobe ID experience a plus)
* Experience with designing in 3D (Browzwear Lotta and/or V-Stitcher) preferred but not required
* Experience creating presentation boards and line sheets on Illustrator or InDesign
* Familiar with a mass market customer, able to cost-engineer
* Resourceful, able to follow direction and work autonomously
* Team player; excellent written and oral communication skills; organized
* Comfortable working in fast-paced environment and can change task focus as needed
* Highly observant, posesses extradordinary eye for trend, color, and print

The hourly wage range for this position is $25 - $40 / hour

The hourly wage range for this position is $28.85-$49.04*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
