Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking a highly motivated Technician for its Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) & Wastewater Treatment (WWT) Operations team. The selected candidate will be trained to become a key member of the UPW and Wastewater treatment operations team and will assist on-site operations especially Control room monitoring, addressing alarms, coordinating & performing Chemical offload activities, troubleshooting and continuous improvements to waste treatment systems. Technician will be heavily engaged with other facilities operations team members to coordinate certain tasks and requires to Fab operations team. In addition to strong technical role, technician must be able to work with the management team and Module Engineering to ensure constant uptime of all the systems under the area of responsibility. The individual will report to the Fab 8 shift operations manager will be located at Fab 8 in Malta, New York.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Be an active participant in all Facilities safety programs and help ensure compliance with all EHS
• Policies and regulations by visitors, contractors, and employees of GlobalFoundries Fab 8.
• Operations, troubleshooting and control of the sites UPW and WWT system utilizing Field and FMCS controls.
• Assist in the creation and amendment of operations and maintenance specifications and procedures
• Support trouble-shooting of UPW & WWT systems and Chemical valve manifold boxes (VMBs) during offload operations.
• Perform maintenance on various equipment including but not limited to AODD pumps, Centrifugal pumps, Reverse Osmosis units, Multimedia Filter, Ion Exchange units and Chemical waste treatment trains.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment including but not limited to pH, Fluoride, ORP, Conductivity, SiO2, and Boron measurement
• Support and participate in maintaining workspaces and systems to meet Fab8s 6S - program
• Assist and participate in the response, investigation, and resolution of contamination or other Quality issues.
• Assist facilities operations engineers to coordinate Facilities utilities Turn On and Turn Off activities with manufacturing tool owners
• Participate in the qualification of new chemical and slurry lines or systems and the facilitation and qualification of process tools.
• Partner with other Senior Technicians and Management in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned specialty areas
• Partner with Engineering, Staff technicians and other specialty technicians on various facilities projects including system modification and upgrade
• Participation on the facilities Emergency Response Team may be required
• Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

• 2 Year Technical Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor operations or a related discipline.
• Equivalent military training / experience with a minimum of 2 years relevant facilities experience.
• Certification from an accredited trade school with a minimum of 2 years relevant facilities experience
• High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years relevant facilities experience
• Language Fluency - Fluent in English Language - written & verbal
• Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Physical Capacity Demands -
  • Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour Night shift, excluding breaks. (Normal shift is 6:00PM to 6:00AM.)
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements
  • Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift
  • Able to wear appropriate PPEs to handle chemicals (including SCBA, respirators and chemical suits

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing.

Expected Salary Range
$37,100.00 - $63,600.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
