About the Position

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated individual to serve as a Transportation Engineer III in our Peachtree Corners office. In this role you will lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of transportation projects. This position has great growth potential and will provide the opportunity to participate in the training and mentoring of junior engineering staff. You will further develop your skills and work with our experienced senior leadership to coordinate production efforts.

About Our Team

Our team of civil engineering professionals includes transportation design engineers, traffic engineers, and planners. Our transportation team is engaged in projects throughout the southeast, and our existing client base includes state transportation agencies such as the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), as well as various county and local municipalities. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our growing team and would have the opportunity to engage across markets and geographies.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
  • 4-7 years of transportation/roadway and drainage design experience is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer, P.E. certification or ability to become an PE preferred
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of GDOT design criteria and standards
  • Proficiency with roadway design software packages such as MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Excellent technical skills to serve as lead designer of roadway realignments, widening, Alternative Intersection projects, and safety enhancements
  • Ability to coordinate multiple unique assignments simultaneously, ability to delegate and manage assigned work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals. Engage in and support internal Quality Control and Quality Assurance Program
  • Must be able to provide direction and mentor junior level staff
  • Assist in the assessment of resources and effectiveness to meet current and future needs
  • Assist in the development and lead the implementation of roadway design and production training program
  • Assist with marketing pursuits in concert with Project Manager, Pond Leadership, and our Marketing team by providing staff hour estimates and input on schedule.
  • Serve as Roadway Key Technical Lead (KTL) as needed in proposals
