YOUR ROLE

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and potentially some facilitation of corporate soft skills and technical development programs for many different levels throughout North America, ensuring engagement and tracking results.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • This person will also assess training needs, along with providing leadership and subject matter expertise in planning, development and implementation of instructor lead courses, on-line learning solutions and broader development initiatives for NORTAM and in support of global project teams and peers.
  • Ability to manage, develop project plans, execute, and meet clearly defined outcome.
  • Ability to build relationships with subject matter experts and translate technical knowledge into effective training materials.
  • Learning process competency including needs analysis, design approach, material development, effectiveness assessment and workshop facilitation. Specifically, able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, in the course of training design.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate and adapt materials and training methodologies to a diverse learning audience using adult learning principles.
  • Develop/Design instructional materials that are interactive, innovative, functional, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design and learning theory principles via web-based learning publishing software (e.g. Adobe Captivate) and other formats (e.g. PowerPoint).
  • Develop and manage the rollout plan for an integrated set of training modules with careful consideration for appropriate sequencing, prerequisites, and class sizes. Conduct post training evaluation to assess participant reactions, knowledge acquisition, and application of learned skills and impact of training.
  • Learning administration and governance, including planning, organizing, and record keeping, including department objectives attainment within the framework of a Learning Management system (LMS).
  • Developing/assessing/evaluating competency assuarnace framework/ skills matrix
  • Writing, maintaining, supporting, and producing a variety of learning and development reports and queries, while ensuring data integrity.
  • Associate will have direct contact with all employee levels of the organization. Most work will be with Regional Management to determine needs for learning / aligning / coordinating efforts to close gaps in results, culture, soft skills, and other areas of concern.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:
  • BS / BA degree in relevant field (advanced degree / professional certifications a plus)
  • Course/Content and Learning Design experience 5+ years
  • LMS experience 3+ years
  • Adobe Captivate skills at an intermediate to expert level
  • Articulate Storyline skills at an intermediate to expert level
  • Data Analysis ability
  • Design and Development of Learning Content
  • Technical skill sets in working with Systems, Applications (MS Office) at an intermediate to expert level
  • Ability to speak and effectively communicate to and with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Meeting / learning events organization, coordination, and delivery
  • Excellent written communication skill for department email, publications, newsletters to the field
  • ISO / Quality Systems familiarity a plus
Skills:
  • Experience in a learning consulting role (internal or external)
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • 2 years business operations experience (manufacturing or service industry)
  • 2 years' experience in or with Lean/Kaizen/CI/JIT
  • Malcom Knowles Andragogy Concept
  • Adobe Create Cloud
