Under the direction of the Director, and working collaboratively with the Workforce, Learning & Development (WL&D) team, the WL&D Trainer, will primarily support The Home for Little Wanderers' ("The Home") training needs in our New Hampshire-based programs by developing and delivering training curriculum. While the Trainer will be part of the agency-wide Workforce, Learning & Development team, they will support the training, hiring, and onboarding needs of our NH-based programs. The trainings will include topics such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), CPR/First Aid, Trauma Informed Care (TIC), as well as other milieu-based training topics.

How You'll Be Making a Difference

  • Deliver, track, and oversee the overall schedule for necessary trainings at our NH-based programs
  • Deliver initial and refresher trainings in TCI, CPR/FA on an ongoing basis to ensure and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Deliver other trainings such as EQ-2 and group supervision as needed
  • Support the growth and development of other NH-based program trainers
  • Work collaboratively with the WL&D team and Leadership teams of the NH-based programs
  • Conduct trainings via in-person and online formats, and in large and small groups, as appropriate
  • Provide individual employee and program specific training as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to The Home's clinical practice models, as well as proper licensing and certification guidelines
  • Provide training services both internally and externally of The Home, as needed
  • Provide screening, interviewing, and on the ground onboarding/training support for new employees in NH-based programs.
  • Develop materials, logistics and preparation for training events, as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the WL&D Administrative Assistant to track and maintain documentation (such as attendance sheets, evaluations, and training materials), as required
  • Build/maintain relationships with The Home's programs and departments
  • Help support overall WL&D training function through co-facilitation of other more general trainings, as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in the child welfare setting and experience working in a residential/group home settings required
  • Experience supervising other employees
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning theories
  • Experience with instructional design and web-based training design preferred, not required
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills required
  • Ability and awareness of the need to work across and with cultural differences
  • Awareness and experience working via in a social justice and anti-oppressive lens
  • Desire to learn and take direction, and work collaboratively with others
  • Comfortable working with changing work priorities
  • Ability to analyze and understand training needs and processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot both functional and technical issues in a service-oriented environment
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office 365, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications

Physical/Driving Requirements:

Travel to multiple sites throughout New Hampshire, as well as some metropolitan Boston locations is required and therefore access to a vehicle is necessary. Ability to conduct full day and/or consecutive day trainings on a regular basis. Standard office setting. Ability to transport training materials, as needed. May spend extended periods of time on the telephone, at a computer terminal or operating other light office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
