Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, the Quality Control Technician 4 completes a variety of laboratory processes and procedures in the scheduling, evaluation, and review of stock and specialty chromatography products.

  • Perform advanced gas chromatography and/or liquid chromatography operations according to documented methods to evaluate stock and/or custom chromatography products.
  • Test all product groups.
  • Select and prepare appropriate standards and solutions as required for product evaluation.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems.
  • Execute experiments, analyses, and report on results.
  • Recommend process of system improvements where possible.
  • Review test results for conformance to specifications.
  • Generate and maintain records of systems, procedures, and test results.
  • Enter and evaluate Quality Control data using PC and lab automation system including Agilent Chemstation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of chromatographic instrumentation and related equipment.
  • Assist Quality Control Analyst with product scheduling and review of test results.
  • Writes/modifies SOP's
  • Assist in training other Quality Control technicians.
  • Provide leadership for process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical information to production departments as needed.

Physical Attributes:
  • Lift parts of instruments, weighing 5-10 lbs.
  • Install columns requiring fine motor skills (about 16 adjustments per hour)
  • Stand throughout shift

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or other life science discipline
  • 1+ year of laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Gas and liquid chromatography.
  • Basic knowledge ofstatistics and statistical variations.
  • Demonstrated PC knowledge.
  • Ability towork well with others both within and outside of the QC area.
  • Attention to detail.
