STRATEGY INSIGHTS & PLANNING CONSULTANT - HEALTH PLAN & PROVIDER (MARKETING)

ZS is expanding its Health Plan and Provider (HPP) practice, for which we seek a Strategy Insights & Planning Consultant. Strategy Insights & Planning Consultants serve on project teams that deliver high-quality sales and marketing projects to clients. Consultants possess unstructured problem solving skills as well as strong analytic, synthesis and communication skills. Consultants may work on multiple projects simultaneously. As Consultants advance in their career, they specialize in a particular industry, practice area and/or client relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing and strategy consulting projects with health plan clients
  • Conduct issue analysis and develop hypotheses on key Health Plan issues
  • Lead project task execution by ensuring progress, organizing project data and coordinating team meetings
  • Synthesize findings, develop recommendations and communicate results to clients and internal teams
  • Develop strong relationships with Health Plan clients to create ongoing business opportunities
  • Coach and mentor junior team members
  • Play an active role in building the Health Plan practice and contribute to the development of thought leadership ideas relevant to marketing and strategy in the space
Qualifications:
  • MBA in marketing and strong undergraduate academic performance in health policy, business, science, math or or related fields. Alternately, candidates may possess a PhD in marketing, public health, economics, decision sciences or related fields. Five to eight years of relevant work experience may substitute graduate degrees;
  • Up to 3 years of post-MBA relevant work experience, and 3-5 years of pre-MBA work experience like:
    • Experience developing market strategies at health plans and executing tactics to drive membership and sales growth by supporting consumer/member innovation; new product and program launches, and addressing competitive pressures;
    • Experience analyzing economic considerations, developing marketing forecasts, estimating costs, and managing program/project budgets.
    • Direct involvement in designing, developing and deploying marketing communications in the Employer market
    • Developing content strategies and creating a broad range of content across multiple mediums (e.g., thought leadership articles, blogs, other content for traditional media, social media, content for leadership sessions at events,etc.)
  • Understanding the legal and regulatory environment relevant to promoting to consumers; Experience with solutions targeted for health plans and / or an interest in healthcare business processes / analytics strongly preferred
  • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills, with a creative angle
  • Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset
  • Client service orientation
  • Effective oral and written communication skills that enable personal impact with senior-level decision makers
ZS is a global consulting firm. Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
