Sr. Staff Accountant

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

To assist with oversight of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Assisting with month end close, preparation of financial statements, and research of accounting treatment and presentation of various topics according to US GAAP for multiple business units.

2. Assisting Accounting Manager with year end, quarter end, and month end closings.

3. Resolving various accounting and financial issues as requested.

4. Providing senior management review and analysis.

5. Hands-on involvement in the implementation of management processes including internal controls.

6. Preparing bi-monthly forecast reports and end of month flash report.

7. Balance sheet account reconciliations.

8. Assisting with year end external audit, provide communication and support to audit team.

9. Assisting with adherence to monthly financial KPIs.

1. Excellent problem solving skills

2. Excellent organizational skills

3. Excellent written and verbal skills

3. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

4. Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines

5. Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Leadership experience preferred

2. Several years' experience in accounting and finance required

3. Experience with ERP system a plus

4. Accounting, Finance, or Business related degree required

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to __ %) required in support of the position's responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
