As the Sr. Manager of Global New Product Manufacturing you will lead the administration and operation of the global New Product Manufacturing Engineering (NPME) Team.This includes the administration of the team, tooling budget management, special plant Operation's projects, division support and other special duties.

Your success (and the success of the NPME team) will provide leadership in the DFMA process, plant and production tooling, quality, cost reduction activties and product manufacturability - to ensure effective product introduction to the manufacturing sites.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of up to 5 NPM Managers, each overseeing teams of up to 2-5 Engineers who support the Global NPM.
  • Leading the organization in the preparation and implementation of manufacturing plans beginning at the 1.0 product development concept stage through the 5.0 and 6.0 stages.
  • Formulating policies and procedures regarding manufacturing activities during the engineering and design process.
  • Providing leadership in establishing objectives and priorities that are coordinated with the operations, engineering and financial plans.
  • Preparing and maintaining budgets for the department, capital and expense tooling. Developing/implementing training programs for personnel regarding new technologies, products, manufacturing systems and methods.
  • While personally responsible for certain projects, leading other department members in the implementation of advanced manufacturing responsibilities according to the product development system.
  • Approving product development and manufacturing implementation schedules and establishing tracking systems to assure schedule compliance.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • B.S in Engineering required; M.S preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering including a minimum of 4 years leading/coordinate new product introduction to manufacturing sites.
  • Experience with appropriate manufacturing processes e.g. tooling development, weld, paint, assembly, extrusion, injection molding, metal fab.
  • High degree of self-direction and tolerance of ambiguity.
  • Ability to write technically, work effectively across levels from shop floor to Director level and to support work at remote sites.
  • Willingness to adjust working hours to ensure effective support of region.
  • SAP skills a plus but can be trained.

Onsite Collaboration - Given this is a leadership role - there will be a requirement for this person to be onsite with situational flexibility.#LI-Onsite Competitive Salary - The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $130,000 - $150,000. Cash compensation is just one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
