Location/Division Specific Information

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance professional to join our team! As the Senior Finance Manager, you will hold responsibility for our Laboratory Equipment (LE) Division's flagship factory based in Asheville, NC. Working closely with the LE Global Operations Finance Director and the Asheville Site Leader, the role will own the manufacturing site's results by ensuring global best practices are implemented and improvement strategies are delivered. You will also support other LE entity's reporting that flows through Asheville's ERP system, including our NA distribution hub in Frederick, MD, our Service operations and Divisional level financials. This role will lead a team of 8 reports and drive partnership with our Global Shared Services finance team in Costa Rica.

You will work to build a world class manufacturing organization by developing and deploying strategic actions to improve both productivity and customer experience. You will be an integral part of the operations leadership team, partnering with supply chain, sourcing, site operations, and operational improvement leaders to drive critical metrics.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Lead all aspects of cost of sales and inventory management processes. Establish efficient and effective processes and measure what matters in a way that provides appropriate real-time insights
  • Drive standardization and clear financial reporting to key site level and business level metrics (i.e. warranty, scrap, freight, productivity savings, lead times, E&O, Inventory, overhead, labor management)
  • Transform current reporting process into a reporting platform that is seen as the best in the division, applying PowerBI and Hyperion planning to provide enhanced financial visibility and business partnership
  • Develop robust process and scorecards to provide understand to key savings targets, restructuring costs, investments and overall financial performance on execution of all Operations initiatives
  • Clearly articulate financial and operational results to senior leadership
Planning and Forecasting:
  • Own development of annual budget and periodic forecast requirements for scoped entities.
  • Identify business risks and mitigating opportunities during the quarter to enable the delivery of financial targets in the annual operating plan
  • Improve forecast processes to ensure that financial commitments are met
  • Drive effective prioritization and value achievement on investments required to deliver on critical operations strategies and Corporate funded initiatives
Business Partnership & Leadership:
  • Exhibit role model leadership and intensely focus on employee development
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach that allows the team adopt outside/in thinking that advances the organization's agenda
  • Lead critical initiatives across multiple functions and locations to improve operations profitability and achieve/outperform AOP goals
  • Provide strategic financial partnership and direction to the operations team, optimizing profit margins for all sites including footprint optimization, complexity reduction, sourcing, productivity, overhead cost management, inventory risk management, and capital optimization
Accounting & Controls:
  • Create robust cost controls, reporting, and accountability in the organization
  • Lead internal and external audit and work with management to develop remediation plans as vital
  • Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and corporate accounting policy and seeks guidance from Director, Finance in anomalous situations
  • Improve processes with Global Business Services (GBS) team by aligning metrics and demonstrating standard methodologies
  • Enhance quarterly balance sheet reviews and partner on other critical projects through continued engagement between site finance team and GBS team
How you will get here:
  • Accounting/Finance Degree required
  • MBA or CMA/CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of dynamic relevant work experience within a global organization
  • Great knowledge of US GAAP
