The Role

Moderna is seeking a Sr. Director, Marketing - RSV, whose primary role is to plan, develop, execute and optimize multi-channel brand strategies and plans for RSV in the United States market. This individual works closely with the global brand marketing teams, internal support functions and executive leadership to manage all phases of execution for integrated multi-channel plans. The Sr. Director also plays a key role in generating insights to drive ongoing optimization of brand campaigns and continual alignment of plans and strategies with brand objectives, goals and budgets.

In this role, you will join Moderna at a critical time for Moderna and their product pipeline. This role will be responsible for preparing and executing "best in class" brand plans, manage launch excellence, develop strategies and tactics as well as work closely with the global marketing teams.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Be the strategic brand expert who drives Moderna's commercial brand strategy for RSV within the US
  • Develop comprehensive and innovative annual Brand plan for the US that supports commercial brand positioning, brand narrative, disease awareness and thought leadership for marketed brands and pipeline assets
  • Shape the key elements that define Moderna's position as a leader in the US vaccines market, working closely with the General Manager and global brand team
  • Work effectively within the commercial function, across the brands and with market access to ensure consistent strategic and tactical implementation of global communication programs and initiatives to support the global commercial brand strategies
  • Collaborate with the commercial, medical, and regulatory teams at every stage of development through launch, navigating the complexities inherent in rapid response vaccine development. You'll work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders to drive a smooth and successful product launch(s)
  • Ensure clear engagement plans and roadmaps for US stakeholders across functions are aligned to brand strategies
  • Support field (and partner) needs including brand training and best in class tactical tools for engagement with customers in face to face and remote/digital settings
  • Partner with the global brand team, lead US implementation of core media and digital campaigns for optimal use, brand recognition, and ROI
  • Provide strong project management/leadership on key communications activities and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time with a high level of quality, in accordance with Compliance, Chief Medical Office, Legal and Regulatory requirements
  • Bring your relentless drive and ambition for excellence to assess and define the key value drivers, brand narrative, and go-to-market strategy across a multichannel approach for a complex ecosystem of healthcare providers, governments, health systems, and health care consumers
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in vaccines/pharmaceuticals brand management and/or customer facing roles

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Understanding of and strong interest in vaccines/infectious disease
  • Demonstrated experience using innovative digital channels and platforms for communications.
  • Savvy and comfortable making recommendations using different digital channels and platforms
  • Able to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise language, understandable by all audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Proven ability and hands-on experience navigating complex product communications issues
  • Knowledgeable in current and evolving communications tactics and channels, including utilizing communications technology such as podcasts, intranets and internal and external social networks
  • Thinks strategically, prioritizes effectively and delivers high-impact results
  • Exceptional project management experience, including managing several programs/ projects simultaneously
  • Strong business acumen and robust understanding of regulatory requirements as they relate to marketing programs and initiatives
  • Collaborative leadership skills to influence without authority and work effectively with senior leadership
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and is comfortable with ambiguity
  • Effectively negotiates and collaborates with stakeholders; demonstrates the ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner
  • Strong and respectful interpersonal and partnering skills, and the ability to build meaningful and sustainable relationships at all levels and functions of the organization
