Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Analyst to join our growing organization.This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. You will work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of mission capabilities and transition to enterprise services, virtual and cloud-based technologies, continually assessing options to fully transition IT services to cloud-based solutions in compliance with DoD mandates or to achieve performance efficiencies and improvements.
  • Supports internally hosted advanced technologies and Government decision to transition to enterprise services in a cloud environment, and migration of services to a new hosting service or technology stack in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Creates a project architecture consisting of open source, COTS and/or GOTS software services solution capable of operating in global environments.
  • Develops, designs and advises on Enterprise architecture, engineering, and technical solutions and innovations to maximize the operational availability of network infrastructure.
  • Oversees integration of new data sources to provide no major disruption to the architecture through each development cycle. Includes architecting computer security aspects of the system.
  • Responsible for implementing, supporting, developing and, in some cases, designing communication networks in support of new transmissions solutions.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other radio frequency (RF) and SATCOM problems.
  • Provides support in the design, development, and testing of radio frequency (RF), components, circuits, or products.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses.
  • Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups.
  • Advise senior leaders on results stemming from research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E) on various RF and SATCOM communications systems.
  • Performs, or directs the performance of complex engineering assignments involved in the research, design, and development of an overall transmission system comprised of several components and or sub systems.
  • Prepares test plans, systems specifications, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Evaluates engineering progress, developments, and findings to assure technical adequacy to meet operational demands and conformance with established standards and practices.
  • Performs troubleshooting and testing for Transmission Subsystem (TSS) components and systems located in outdoor/indoor environments.
  • Recommends alternate solutions applying latest equipment and technology as it relates to Transmission's systems.
  • Manages Transmission projects from concept to delivery of hardware solution.
  • Originates engineering plans, ideas, schemes, and techniques as may be required to direct the efforts of assigned personnel in the achievement of desired results and objectives.
  • Prepares studies, cost estimates and technical reports.
  • Provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.
  • Attend technical interchange meetings, vendor demonstrations, and tech expos.
  • Compiles and evaluates test data, prepares technical analysis, recommends methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes.
  • Coordinates with other technical support personnel.
  • Independently determines proposed approach to solutions.
  • Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects.
  • Plans and executes project tasks for activities described above.
  • Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to completely understand and respond to customer's comprehensive tactical requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) radio systems.
  • Strong knowledge of tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) equipment.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes.
  • SATCOM and RF system experience to include design and operation.
  • Strong communication skills and experience briefing senior leaders.
  • Strong use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Experienced using RF test equipment to include signal generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzer, vector signal generators.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and operate man lifts to perform antenna system support.
  • Capable of working with limited direction.
  • Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced, development environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Physical requirements for the job include the ability to work in an office and lab environment.
  • 10+ years experience.
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or 10 years equivalent experience); or master's degree.
Citizenship
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Clearance
  • Active TS(SCI)/SCI Eligible

  • Experience with Windows (Processes, IPC, caching, Windows Registry).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work on multi-functional teams.
  • Display detailed knowledge and understanding of multiple technology infrastructures.
  • Ability to serve as a principal advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise.
  • Exhibit individual initiative to influence events and achieve goals.
  • Be proactive and a self-starter, going beyond specific job responsibilities to ensure goals and achieved or exceeded.
  • Travel as necessary for customer projects, technology expositions, and corporate meetings.
