Summary of Duties:

The Senior Associate Director of Athletics/CFO serves as the area financial, accounting and budget officer responsible for the direction, planning, projections, and oversight of financial functions and personnel in intercollegiate Athletics. Provides a broad range of senior administrative leadership, management oversight and coordination for all aspects of business operations and personnel management within the Washington State University Athletics Department.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sports administration, administrative, business, liberal arts, social sciences, or related discipline plus five (5) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the particular unit, including two (2) years of supervisory responsibility. Any combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the required education. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations.

  • The 5 years noted above must include experience working in intercollegiate athletics in progressively responsible leadership positions or working in accounting, budget development, business operations, and/or financial planning, or equivalent education/experience.

  • Strong organizational and oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated management and organizational abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in related field.

  • Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, co-workers, and constituents.

  • Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, E-mail, and Workday.
