Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Develop high-quality software design and architecture. Design solutions such that Walmart processes and applications work in tandem for specific components and modules of a product. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause). Design and document high level architecture for application. Work on the discovery phase of medium to large projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills Required: Experience designing and implementing REST API webservices using Spring Boot in Java. Experience implementing JUnit testing and code coverage. Experience performing load testing using JMeter. Experience enabling deployment CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Concord, and GitHub/GitLab. Experience orchestrating multiple microservices using Docker and Kubernetes. Experience implementing database management systems and low-level schema using relational database MySQL. Experience with SQL queries and NoSQL databases. Experience with architecture design for applications and features. Experience working on cloud technologies, Spring cloud, and Spring security. Experience gathering product requirements, conducting scoping and high-level design, and preparing design documentation. Experience with API documentation using Swagger, yaml, or markdown. Experience with setup alerts and alarms using Grafana or Prometheus. Experience troubleshooting business and JIRA production issues using Java Profiler, and Remote debugging. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $184,662/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
