Zurich Services LLC (a division of Zurich Insurance) is seeking to hire a Senior Information Security Strategist within Global Information Security (GIS).

This is a key senior position responsible for helping to enact the vision, establish the IT security strategy and program to ensure information assets are adequately protected within the enterprise. The role can be located at the Zurich North America Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL OR remotely for the right person.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Directly engage key stakeholders from various internal IT security functions including Cyber, Operations, Engineering, and Architecture along with business-facing stakeholders.
  • Help develop and maintain framework for risk-based strategic planning to guide activities against evolving cyber threats.
  • Build program in alignment with the IT security strategy to ensure best practices, improve value gained and mature technology capabilities.
  • Align with methodologies to assess the level of compliance with baseline requirements and mechanisms for status reporting.
  • Support vendor governance to optimize costs, enhance services and mitigate risks while furthering the value received from vendors throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Align with the corporate strategic direction and prioritize IT security efforts that support the business to efficiently reduce the level of IT risk.

  • Consulting experience in a major firm or technology product vendor
  • Ability to operate at senior management level using highly developed consulting and influencing skills, and able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
  • Understanding of holistic set of IT technologies and processes (operating systems, databases, networking, web/application, change management, SDLC, disaster recovery, monitoring, cloud)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the insurance business
  • Strong written and verbal skills in English
  • Occasional travel (domestic / international)
  • Experience in producing and delivering content for senior executives & boards in companies at a Fortune Global level
  • Ability to be a change agent to transform and streamline an organization and enhance capabilities to meet current and future business drivers
  • Strong risk management and IT security skills, as well as contract and vendor negotiation
  • Solid understanding of technology landscape and experience in vetting product solutions and managing proof of concepts
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance drivers, IT compliance controls, and security concepts and architectures
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the insurance business
  • Insurance and/or financial services industry experience
  • Experience working across geographical boundaries to engage team members and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, budget, strategy, and team management skills
  • Ability to operate at an executive level and able to communicate security and risk related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Relevant certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA
  • Proficient understanding of IT security risk improvement best practices, methodologies, tool mechanisms and trends
  • Knowledge of control frameworks and audit processes including governance concepts such as ISO and NIST
  • Knowledge of global industry and regulatory requirements including PCI, EU privacy, GDPR, HIPAA, SOX
  • International experience a plus
