Summary:
The Senior Department Administrator, Clinical Laboratory Services will provide leadership, financial, operational oversight, and strategic direction. The Senior Department Administrator will evaluate current programs and implement and develop new programs to ensure productivity while providing high quality Clinical Laboratory Services. The Senior Department Administrator will be responsible for developing laboratory strategic plans, evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory compliance. The Senior Department Administrator will lead innovation and change through the application of lean principles, tools and techniques to increase operational efficiencies. Develops a culture of accountability, provides the team with strategic direction, prioritization, and support to achieve results.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience in physician practice management and/or healthcare administration with demonstrated success in excellent physician relationships including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of fifteen (15) years of full-time experience as a Senior Department Administrator in physician practice management and/or in healthcare administration with demonstrated success in excellent physician relationships including five (5) years of experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity and currently enrolled in an appropriate Master's degree program.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have previous Clinical Laboratory Management experience, knowledge of the New York State Joint Commission and regulatory requirements, along with previous leadership with a focus on strategic planning and team building. In addition they will also have experience with business/fiscal oversight and proven experience with laboratory efficiencies such as Six Sigma methodology.
