Job you will do

Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Senior Data Engineer with Eide Bailly might include the following:

  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing Eide Bailly’s Data Analytics environment.
  • Work closely with ITS program managers and application developers to architect and build database fact and dimension tables needed to contain new data sources as requested by Eide Bailly’s service areas.
  • Build ETL processes to extract data from multiple sources and populates the data warehouse.
  • Work with service areas to transform the data through applying business use cases, auditing and staging data.
  • Create fact and dimension tables needed to support reporting technologies such as OLAP cubes, Tableau, Power BI and Alteryx.
  • Use problem solving and creativity to apply appropriate metrics in the creation of compelling and thorough analysis.
  • Prepare and maintains documentation of what is being delivered by the Data Analytics environment and provides a full description of how the information is being delivered to the environment.
  • Work with ITS team members to ensure that all data needs are being supplied by internal systems and applications.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for system security and governance.
 

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minor in mathematics, statistics, accounting, finance or other quantitative discipline, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working with database systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of:
    • ETL processes.
    • MPP systems such as MS Data Factory & Synapse, Snowflake, Delta Lake.
    • Streaming technologies, such as Microsoft, Kafka, Kinesis, Lambda and Spark.
  • Experience in at least two of the following:
    • MS SQL – SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services.
    • Python Language.
    • Cloud Data technologies – Azure and AWS.
    • Data modeling using the Kimball method (Star schema).
  • Comfortable with uncertainty. Projects and assignments will change rapidly, so must be flexible enough to accommodate changing priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and motivated to take on projects proactively.
  • Ability to work with different departments and teams to gather complete datasets and communicate findings and practices company-wide.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, partners, public and external agencies.
  • Understands the project management lifecycle while working with program managers, business analysts and data scientists.
  • Must possess intellectual and analytical curiosity -- initiative to dig into the \"why\" of various results and a desire to grow responsibility and become a domain expert and strategic thought leader.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
