Responsibilities

Conducting research in the area of real-time surgical simulation technologyDeveloping novel simulation algorithms and techniques for surgical training and planningCollaborating with the faculty members and researchers from the FAMU-FSU COE and other institutions to advance the field of surgical simulationWriting grant proposals and securing external fundingPublishing research findings in high-quality journals and presenting research results at conferences and seminarsMentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related disciplineExperience in C/C++ programming, computer graphics, haptics, and physics-based real-time computingProficiency in finite element modeling and simulation.Substantial experience with computational fracture mechanics.Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and libraries including but not limited to TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, etc.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and researchers from diverse backgrounds.Strong publication record in relevant areas of research.Demonstrated ability to secure external funding.Experience in mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers is preferred.
