Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating sponsored research financial and administrative operational activities for the Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) within in the College of Nursing (CON).

  • Responsible for post-award C&G financial activities within the CON ORS by advising and assisting faculty, staff, and principal investigators in post award activity. Identifies and resolves funding and compliance issues, coordinating close-outs, and records management. Schedules regular meetings with PIs to discuss their funded projects and their sponsored project commitments.
  • Ensures funds are spent in accordance with the applicable regulations, terms, and conditions of the award, as well as University policies and procedures. Serves as a subject matter expert for all compliance and policy concerns including NIH and other sponsor guidelines to ensure compliance of the post-award activity.
  • Serves as a Travel Rep for the CON ORS. Assists and trains ORS faculty and staff in Concur and acts as a delegate to prepare travel requests, expense reports, and expense reimbursements. Assists with lodging, airfare, and conference fee arrangements, enters travel, mileage, and reimbursement reports in Concur.
  • Creates purchase requisitions for goods and services and holds a P-Card, enters unencumbered payment requests (ePRF), receives goods and services, tracks orders, and ensures that purchases are appropriate and follow University post-award and procurement rules and regulations.
  • Receives requests for service/purchase and determines if informal solicitation or formal solicitation is needed for ORS. Communicates with ORS PIs, co-workers, vendors, and central office staff to ensure deadlines are met and guidelines are followed. Receives feedback from Contract Administration to assist in negotiating the terms and conditions of the contract until the contract is finalized.
  • Serves as the liaison between ORS and CON HR UBA Team. Responsibilities include coordinating with the CON HR Department Representative, submitting transactions, which may include eRDFs, ePAFs and pPAFs and keeping the CON UBA team up to date. Serves as a FACET representative for ORS staff.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have experience with federal grants, university systems, and processing financial transactions. Candidates should have a strong organizational skill and the ability to work well with others.
