Description
SAIC is developing a Low Earth Orbit constellation to support warfighter situational awareness, data relay and communications. This will include developing system architectures for Ground and Space segments as well as collaborating and integrating with multiple subcontractors.
Due to the complexity of the program and the collaborative partnerships, developing and tracking clear requirements and verification plans throughout the life of the program will be paramount to the success of the program.
Interested personnel need good communication skills to be effective in the team’s collaborative work environment. The SAIC team currently uses online collaboration to coordinate their efforts.
This position may require supporting multiple programs and/or roles simultaneously. Interested personnel should be comfortable with multi-tasking and able to provide written/verbal status updates on each project on a regular basis to their team leads, Program Manager and Customer.
If selected, the candidate will have the opportunity to telework but may be required, based on mission need, to provide on-sight support when applicable and appropriate.
Provide technical leadership on various activities related to the definition and tracking of requirements, deriving from the customer-defined Mission Requirements Document down to System, Subsystem and Component levels
Provide technical leadership on various activities related to the development and management of verification and validation plans, including defining methodologies, timelines, prerequisites and success criteria
Establish and maintain metrics to track verification and validation progress throughout program life
Report progress to Lead Systems Engineer, Chief Engineer and Program Management, including issues and recommendations to achieve verification and validation closeout on schedule
Supporting program reviews, including System Requirements Review (SRR), PDR, CDR, Pre-Ship Review (PSR) and Mission Readiness Review (MRR)
Qualifications

Preferred: Master’s degree in relevant field
Preferred: Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering

Preferred: Work experience in space-based engineering roles
Preferred: Experience as an RV&V Lead

Preferred: Work experience in RV&V roles for space-based programs

Preferred: Experience with Rational DOORS Next Generation/IBM Jazz
Able to obtain SECRET clearance level

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
