Mercer's US Strategic Bid Center (SBC) is seeking candidates for the following position to work from anywhere in the U.S.

Proposal Design Team Leader

  • This is a people manager role overseeing an experienced graphic design team of five. This group is part of a national shared service team of strategists, project managers and content managers who support Mercer US sales and retention activity
  • Your primary responsibility will be to manage the overall design service and approach for finalist presentations and proposals
  • You will partner with other managers on the team to coordinate work assignments, establish and maintain processes, innovate design deliverables for client need, and ensure quality and brand standards are met

We will count on you to:
  • As a people manager, to mentor and coach design team, providing actionable feedback
  • Handle intake of design requests and make assignments. This team supports PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign executive summaries, booklets, Adobe Premiere/After Effects videos and Adobe AEM microsites
  • Act as team liaison with Mercer marketing and brand team to ensure SBC deliverables are produced in alignment with Mercer brand guidelines
  • Understand Mercer's visual identity system principles, guidelines and elements and various stages of developing their components
  • Constructively participate in deliverable ideation and design critiques with designers and other SBC team members
  • Provide strategic guidance to commercial leadership around process or deliverable improvements
  • Liaise with field community around best practice design approaches for sales, coaching and training on how to use design or video to improve client experience with Mercer in sales and rebid situations
  • Oversee a small offshore design team who provide direct field support for PowerPoint finalist decks and videos
  • Actively enhance your skills, learning about new technology, media, production processes, design applications, and innovative working methods

What you need to have:
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience in a corporate or agency setting
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with B2B sales or similar client pitch background
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience people management
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or have demonstrated technical design aptitude
  • Significant experience with PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate or introduce new concepts to your client base

The National US average range for this role is $115,000 to $172,500.The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certificationsandeducation. We do not anticipate candidates hired into this role would immediately earn a salary at or near the top end of the range however, such a decision will be dependent on acase-by-casebasis. The applicable base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $150,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
