REGISTRAR ASSISTANT

Hiring Pay Scale: $57,127.68 - $58,359.60 / Year

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar, Enrollment Services, the Registrar Assistant is responsible for providing customer service to the general public, and students, staff and faculty across the University.

The incumbent assists in all areas of Enrollment Services, including troubleshooting enrollment issues, and is responsible for overseeing the production of transcripts and verifications. The incumbent must display discretion and maintain strict confidentiality according to UC regulations, as well as state and federal laws (FERPA).

QUALIFICATIONS

* Demonstrated skill in analyzing, interpreting and implementing university policies, procedures accurately and effectively.

* Ability to use independent judgment and initiative, to analyze complex or unique situations, and to develop recommendations that adhere to the spirit of an organization's policies and procedures.

* Demonstrated skill in establishing rapport and exercising professional judgment, tact, and diplomacy in communicating with a large diversity of people from a variety of cultural, and economic backgrounds.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to employ fundamental advising techniques with sensitivity, including appropriate referrals to campus resources.

* Demonstrated organizational skills to effectively and independently prioritize large-volume workloads, handle multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, and meet multiple conflicting deadlines or deadlines with short lead times.

* Ability to quickly analyze and interpret questions and concerns, and to provide timely answers or information.

* Proven ability to compile, interpret and analyze data utilizing multiple resources and references.

* Demonstrated ability to follow complex written and oral instructions; demonstrated skill in following through task/functions with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

* Ability to develop functional procedures; evaluate various office practices; propose attainable long-range goals to senior management, and implement appropriate changes.

* Ability to professionally handle stressful and difficult situations, and proven sensitivity to students' needs and concerns.

* Demonstrated skill and ability to network and make effective use of campus resources.

* Writing skills to prepare reports, correspondence, notes and memos to communicate clearly with the campus community and general public. Ability to edit written material with excellent command and recognition of English grammar and spelling.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

* Must be able to withstand the demands of heavy public contact.

* Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18). Completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form is required.

* Job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory clearance based on background check results.

* Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.
