The R&D Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for executing R&D power electronics testing and supporting power equipment qualification efforts. They will schedule and coordinate tests to meet project deadlines, execute tests, process data, and report key results. Will also setup and maintain the power electronics lab test equipment when necessary .

This position is a hands-on, on-the-job learning position at Excellerate Neenah Development Lab.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized and has ability to pivot between priorities to support rapid design.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience preferred.

  • Working with AC and DC power sources.
  • Understand basic electrical hazards and safety.
  • Experience working with power converters & power equipment: high voltage and high power.
  • Experience in calibration and maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Experience in generating clear and concise test reports.
  • Experience working with lab test equipment: oscilloscope, power analyzer, multi-meter, data loggers.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Python, C/C++.
  • Experience in setting up data logging devices and building battery test fixtures is preferred


Travel: None

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds lab test setup and data logging capability.

  • Sets up, troubleshoots, and maintains lab test equipment: multi-meters, voltage and current probes, oscilloscopes, functional generators, power analyzers, LCR meters, electronics AC/DC loads.

  • Schedules and prioritizes various R&D power electronic test scenarios required by projects.

  • Executes testing of inverters and converters using lab test equipment. Writes and modifies test scripts, executes test scripts, and manages data generated.

  • Processes data, documents, and reports key results in a clear and concise manner.

  • Supports m icrogrid systems-level testing and end-of-line manufacturing testing as needed.

  • Responsible for all safety aspects working around lab test equipment and power sources .

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
