Job Description Summary

This position supports Lamb Weston's Journey to Zero by providing clear, concise, and relevant cost analysis, estimating, forcaste and guidance to project teams. The successful applicant will leverage excel, SAP, and Microsoft Project in delivering overall capital cost management information for the project. Reguler project schedule updating will be required. In addition, the candidate will provide cost guidance to plants and technical teams. Comparison of project close out costs to initial estimates is a critical activity, implementing those learnings back into the developed estimating system must be delivered. The successful candidate will be involved in bid tab development and analysis, perform purchase requistition creation, enter goods and services receipts, and be a critical member of capital project development. While directly reporting to the Cost Engineer the individual will also dot line to the Capital Project Manager. Analysis of emerging pricing trends, labor rates, and general costing is a plus. This is based out of our Kennewick, Washington, engineering office.

Job Description

  • SAP Data Entry including PR's, GR's and SES's.
  • Aid in estimating, cost tracking, reporting, and forcasting.
  • Organized and capable of planning and excuting work against developed plan including continency planning.
  • Understand site & construction sequencing.
  • Support project implementation activities such as scheduling and closeout tasks.
  • Develop and implement problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Recognize, document, and promote best practices.
  • Participate in group discussions and articulate expectations.
  • Adhere to established schedule.
  • Implement, and improve a cost estimating system.
  • Track and report delivery of equipment, materials, and services.
  • Perform quality and performance analysis on historical and ongoing projects.
  • Writing reports and compiling data regarding project costing, trends, and forcasting.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor in Finance or similar is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting large capital projects and engineering is a plus.
  • Ability to drive and travel to various locations to perform on-site work.
  • Must be detail orientated, possess excellent technical and analytical skills, and be a proven self-starter.
  • Demonstrated capability to work on teams and support others.
  • Excel at working with numbers and managing budgets and mathematical software tools.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills is desired.
  • Proficiency in desktop applications to include Microsoft Project, Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of data base systems is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time on average with peaks potentially exceeding that amount for some duration.

Physical Requirements:

Incumbent must have the ability to effectively perform all of the following physical demands without assistance:
  • Sitting for up to 8 hours a day
  • Lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Walking on various manufacturing facility and construction surfaces
  • Climbing up ladders and stairs
  • Exposed to plant and construction noises and vibrations
  • Temperature changes from hot to cold depending on work area
