Job Title:Post Doctoral Scholar - Pulmonary PhysiologyDepartment:Medicine | IM Medical Oncology

Post Doctoral Scholar in the field of pulmonary physiology under the mentorship of Dharini Bhammar, PhD. to study currently ongoing funded projects related to effects of inspiratory muscle training in breast cancer survivors and effects of vaping on respiratory function. Post Doctoral Scholar will be expected to work in cardiopulmonary exercise research laboratory and should be willing to operate and maintain equipment. Post Doctoral Scholar will be expected to participate in experimental design; data collection, data analysis and interpretation; and preparation of oral and written scientific reports and grants. Post Doctoral Scholar will be expected to guide graduate students and undergraduates. Post Doctoral Scholar will conduct miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the PI.

Education/Experience:

A Doctoral degree in Exercise Science, Cardiopulmonary Physiology, Kinesiology, Public Health, Rehabilitation Sciences or closely related disciplines. Highly motivated researcher with a strong background in human systems/integrative physiology/smoking exposure/oncology rehabilitation, excellent verbal and written communication skills including publications and abstracts, and laboratory skills

particularly related to human subjects research including recruiting and consenting participants and conducting research studies in humans related to pulmonary physiology, cardiovascular physiology, exercise physiology; specific training will be provided. Strong statistics background (SAS/SPSS/Prism).

Travel to other OSU clinical/research buildings within the Columbus Metropolitan area for research related activities is required. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. The target hiring range for this position is $54,840 - $66,600. Salary is based on the NIH scale and commensurate with experience.
