Perioperative Care Unit
Second Shift (United States of America)
Ensures that the patient experience exceeds the expectations of the patient, family, significant other(s), and providers; provides support and timely information to the families of patients who are undergoing surgical interventions or procedures in the perioperative procedural areas; helps to streamline communication between the procedural areas/Surgeons/PACU/ICU and patients families; ensures that continuous quality care is received by all patients; assists patients in accessing needed resources and services to allow them to move through the spectrum of cancer care and into long-term survivorship; coordinates with other internal services to facilitate timely cancer care and to encourage an adequate patient adherence; provides patients, physicians, lay public, volunteers, and graduate students with resources and information regarding Roswell Park as needed.
Required Education and Experience
1. Associate's degree in Medical Office Administration or a health related field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a community, patient or clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or
2. Associates degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in a community, patient or clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
