Position Summary:
Patient Care Coordinator-Authorizations for Oncology Office, Full time weekday positions with Holy Cross Medical Group in Ft Lauderdale, Florida


Position Purpose:
Patient Care Coordinator- Authorization Agent has many roles in their position. They work closely with insurance companies and specialists to process all Referral Authorizations. They work efficiently throughout the day while multitasking and taking initiative., while working within HCMG/hospital policies and procedures.

What you will do:

  • Obtain necessary HMO/PPO referral authorizations for referrals received from
    other physicians.
  • Obtain authorization from insurance plan for referrals to Specialists, as
    directed by our Primary Care Physician.
  • Answer phone calls in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner.
What you will need:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT & ICD-9 codes and all insurances
    required
  • Excellent communication and customer service
  • Previous experience in medical office setting preferred
  • Strong experience with obtaining and processing Referrals and Authorizations.
  • Excellent computer skills including typing dictations, PowerPoint, Excel and
    Word
