In support of the College's commitment to diversify our workforce, we are making available two (2) multicultural internship/training positions to start approximately June 2024. The intern will be exposed to the internal and daily operation of a department. This is a limited term multicultural internship/training position. The maximum length of the internship will be through May 31, 2025. Interns must be current NWTC program students with an anticipated graduation of May or December 2025.

The individuals selected would meet with College personnel to develop a specific training program. This program would include classes incorporated into a weekly work schedule. It could also include individual seminars, skill building activities, and individual training programs as the needs and desires of the individual dictate. Those selected will be assigned positions in the College on an 18 hour per week basis and would be provided pay based upon actual hours worked. The College, through Talent & Culture, will pay all educational fees, tuition, and books not covered by other programs.

Selected student interns must adhere to the College's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy, student conduct standards, and maintain expectations of an NWTC employee as identified in the Employee Handbook. Failure to adhere may result in termination of employment and/or repayment of educational funding.

Assistant, English Language Learner (ELL)

LOCATION: Green Bay Campus

POSITION REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Adult Basic Education / College Success

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will assist the English Language Learner (ELL) team in improving persistence and retention rates in ELL programming. This position will contact students who have enrolled in ELL orientation or ELL classes but have not attended classes, with the purpose of encouraging students to begin or return to class. During contact with students, this position will identify student barriers to attendance and assist students in overcoming those barriers if possible (i.e. college resources, finding classes that better fit their schedule, etc.). This position will also assist with enrolling students in ELL classes, sending class enrollment verification and reminder texts to students, and monitor and respond to incoming texts and e-mails to shared ELL program accounts.

THIS IS A LIMITED TERM INTERN/TRAINING POSITION

POSITION SUMMARY

This position works to provide event planning, marketing, and general communication support for the NWTC student Involvement department which coordinates and oversees all co-curricular student events and activities. Assists in the overall success of the department by helping with creative design, coordinating events, and providing exemplary customer service.

The position will assist in the overall branding and sharing of information with students related to services provided by Career Services. Also assists in creative design, marketing of events and providing customer services. Majority of this work is done through social media and campus marketing channels for purposes of promoting Career Services, their goals for students, the community and program events.
