The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Office Technician position for the Division of Children and Family Services. This position provides direct, on-site support to SESA protection and safety teams for the Division of Children and Family Services.

Location: South Lincoln DHHS Office - 5220 South 16th Street Lincoln, NE, 68512

Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Examples of Work
The Office Technician will:

• Provide variety of direct customer services and perform paraprofessional/clerical support work for protection & safety casework, which may include receiving clients, entering data, filing, document imaging, sorting, opening mail, completing forms, copying, searching records, answering multi-line phones, and keyboarding.
• Enter, retrieve, and research information using agency computer systems.
• Operate various office equipment such as scanning equipment, multi-line telephones and computers.
• Schedule, transport, or arrange transports for clients.
• Provide information to clients and community members.
Duties may also include assisting with front desk receptionist needs.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment.

PREFERRED: Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and NFOCUS; Internal and external customer service experience.

OTHER: Valid Driver's License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General office practices and procedures; computer office applications, systems, and programs; maintain records and files; scanning/imaging equipment, multi-function copy machines, multi-line telephones and other office equipment; perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication; English grammar and usage; understand human services practices and procedures; accommodate new methods; maintain confidentiality; sharp attention to detail; proofreading skills; accurate keyboarding skills; and predictable and reliable attendance.
