Our M.A. program prepares students for careers in research and teaching, and graduates of our M.F.A. program in Creative Writing are ready for a professional life in writing, teaching, publishing, editing, and more. Our new 1-year M.A. for Teaching Professionals condensed program enables practicing teachers to earn their M.A. in English in a year.

General Description:
The Department of English and Communication at Rutgers University, Camden campus seeks applications for a full-time, 10-month non-tenure track (NTT) Assistant Professor appointment in Creative Writing teaching both undergraduate and graduate level students. This is a 3-year appointment with possibility of renewal. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester, with possible course releases allowing time for administrative duties.

Responsibilities:
The incumbent faculty member shall:
1. Teach 4 classes per semester, from among:
· Undergraduate introduction to creative writing
· Undergraduate fiction workshop
· Undergraduate creative nonfiction workshop
· Undergraduate publishing and editing
· Undergraduate humor writing
· Graduate fiction workshop
· Graduate nonfiction workshop
· Graduate craft: fiction
· Graduate craft: nonfiction
· Thesis advising
2. Help design and implement new undergraduate Creative Writing major within English and Communication major.
3. Advise and mentor graduate students as they complete MFA degree, assisting with course selection, internships, and residencies, along with post-graduation strategy.
4. Serve on graduate and undergraduate committees as needed, including MFA Committee.
5. Serve term in rotation as MFA Director and Director of the Writers House.

M.F.A or Ph.D.
