Our Life & Safety Operations team is adding a NOC Engineer to our team in Longmont located at 1601 Dry Creek Drive. The role of this team is to support voice and network elements to maintain 9-1-1 networks. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong communication skills, the ability to work in a collaborative environment and have a strong background in voice and network platforms.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Outage response, high-level systems analysis, evaluation, documentation, and implementation requiring a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills related to the IEN/VoIP platform
- Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on outage response and repair, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases
- Responsible for ensuring quality services are delivered for tasks and is seen as the task leader
- Coordinate strategies for rapid repair, deployment, and maintenance of IP telephony voice communication architecture and the IEN-Voice network, hardware/software and IP telephony/voice applications
- Configuring and optimizing all VoIP telephone systems and services, both internally, and those integrated with Internet-based services
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements: Education - Bachelor's Degree in Networking, Telecommunications, MIS, Computer Science or a related field, however experience may be substituted for educational requirements
- CCNA or CCNP preferred, but not required
Experience and Technical Skills: - 3+ years voice engineering work experience or similar position required
- Prior Network Operations (NOC) experience required
- Prior T1, DS0, or DS3 provisioning/testing and circuit turn-up experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of SIP, H.323 and TCP/IP protocols
- A strong understanding of VoIP QoS issues and mitigation strategies
- Strong knowledge of ACME SBC (configurations, HMR's etc.)
- Strong knowledge of configuration and optimization of VoIP equipment
- Strong knowledge with Cisco/Juniper switches and routers
- In-depth understanding of MOS Score, Jitter and all VoIP related troubleshooting methods
- In-depth understanding of SIP monitoring and debugging using tools such as Hammer, E-XMS, Wireshark or similar
- Strong knowledge of Sonus Soft switches (GSX/PSX/SGX/GSI/EMS etc.)
- First-hand knowledge of Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) network builds preferred
- PBX and Circuit based telephone network experience preferred

For candidates located in Colorado, the hiring range for this position is anticipated between $75,000-$85,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
