Network Engineer II (BGP)

We are hiring a Network Engineer II for a leading Software Development Company in La Mirada, CA.

• This is a Direct Hire position, W2
• 100% remote now but will be hybrid on site in the future in La Mirada, CA
• Salary is up to $92,600 with excellent benefit package
• Monday to Friday 8 to 5 PM

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network Engineer II is responsible for providing deployment support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Deploy, install, and configure new network devices and/or network services or upgrade existing
devices and services
2. Work closely with the Program Management Office to gather member requirements and
recommend appropriate network deployment solutions based on existing service offerings
3. Partner with other members of the Network Engineering team to complete complex member
deployment requests, such as dark fiber builds
4. Create and update network documentation needed to ensure a maintainable, streamlined, and
efficient network
5. Participate in updating and revising policies, procedures, technical reports, and internal training
material as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. 2 years experience with network configuration, implementation, and operations
2. Experience with Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
3. Experience with OSPF or IS-IS, and IP Routing basics

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. 4 years experience with network configuration, implementation, and operations
2. Cisco CCNA or JNCIA certifications
3. Experience with BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and EVPN
4. Experience with optical transmission systems such as WDM
5. Experience in a university and/or research environment
6. Experience with network tools such as Zabbix, Netbox, Cisco NSO, etc.
7. Basic Python or other programming knowledge
