ECS is seeking a Network Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office.

Job Description:
ECS Federal has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer for a Department of Defense (DoD) network located in a contractor facility.
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional technical background; experience with DoD network environments; and the ability to interface with all levels from end-users to senior management.
Candidates must be able to take ownership of tasks and deadlines; work without supervision; commit to high quality results; and provide common sense technical solutions.
In addition, candidates should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and have well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Architect, configure, and manage a network in a DoD environment.
  • Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware to comply with DoD requirements.
  • Manage perimeter defense systems and enhance rule sets to block sources of malicious traffic.
  • Develop and maintain a secure management network.
  • Support risk mitigation activities such as Assessment and Authorization (A&A), continuous monitoring, and vulnerability and configuration management.
  • Analyze patterns of non-compliance and take appropriate administrative or programmatic actions to minimize security risks and insider threats.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to network devices.
  • Analyze system performance for potential security problems.
  • Participate in technical incident response and security assessment activities.
  • Support and provide knowledge transfer to team members and clients.
  • Conduct other duties as needed.
Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active DoD Secret Security clearance, and ability to receive a TS/SCI clearance
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree
  • Qualify for DoD IAT Level II within 6 months of hire.
    • One of the following: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP, GICSP, or GSEC
    • One networking certification.
  • Implement & refine Access Control Lists (ACL)
  • Configure Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Configure and Manage RADIUS, 802.1x, and Cisco ISE
  • Implement and maintain network infrastructure DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Understand the system and its environment of operation.
    • Master technical capabilities with firewalls and layer 3 switches (Fortinet and Cisco)
Desired Skills:
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience preparing for CCRI and DSS assessment
  • A track record of self-improvement and continuous learning
  • Ability to make decisions in matters of significance
  • Deploying, maintaining, and utilizing network management software
