CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

Under the limited supervision of the Associate Vice President of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE) the Member Outreach Coordinator assists in all communication, marketing, and public relation needs of the Higher Education Consortia (HEC) with a specific focus on supporting the member institutions of HEC. This position serves as the Member Outreach Coordinator and reports to the Director of the Higher Education Consortia in the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at the University of Delaware. The coordinator will assist with marketing, outreach, and member support with the goal of advancing the National Study of Instructional Cost and Productivity (The Cost Study) and other HEC activities.

This position can be fully remote but has the option to be on campus 10% (i.e., 1-2 times per month).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Support

  • Collect, verify, and maintain contact information, registration, and payment records for all HEC activities including The Cost Study, specifically during the registration period of the annual cycle of the study.
  • Obtain and validate contact information for use in the annual recruitment of participants in The Cost Study.
  • Field and respond to telephone and email communications that require basic information regarding The Cost Study and HEC and refer complex questions to the appropriate Cost/HEC personnel.
  • Assist with the data submission and validation processes of The Cost Study as needed.
  • Interact with members as needed specifically to identify new areas of support, data products, and best uses of the data.

Marketing & Outreach

  • Develop and maintain marketing-related efforts (social media and website, educational training, conference, etc.) designed to enhance the user experience of The Cost Study participants and HEC members.
  • Work internally and with consultants on marketing materials for HEC and The Cost Study: brochures, website, presentations, and other information products that are the result of advisory and research board suggestions.
  • Monitor, update, and maintain the HEC customer relations management (CRM) tool as needed, identify CRM needs and offer solutions (software and practice), and assist with the integration of client communications to a new platform.
  • Assist in the communications and educational efforts of HEC including conference preparations, webinars, and newsletters as needed.
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment efforts to secure new institutional participants for The Cost Study while working to ensure that current participants sustain their participation over time.
  • Travel to regional and national conferences to promote, demonstrate, or assist with use of The Cost Study and HEC as needed.

Additional Duties

  • Attend HEC Advisory Board and meetings and facilitate their aligned activities.
  • Assist in the identification, writing, and implementation of grant funded projects.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a minimum of an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's degree preferred, and one to three years of experience depending on degree earned.
  • Knowledge of advanced marketing and communications practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of records and inventory control systems and analytical/mathematical skills.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to use advanced techniques in spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse set of internal and external clients.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
