Merakey is seeking a full time Medical Director based in the Pittsburgh area or willing to relocate. This working Medical Director will provide support to Merakey's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team (DDTT) and Residential Programs.

The Medical Director will be responsible for:

• Oversees clinical practice sites within the Central / Western Pennsylvania Region of Merakey and provides leadership and direction to all medical and clinical staff, including, but not limited to, physicians, physician extenders, nursing and other clinical personnel.

• Reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and with the collaboration and support of Program Management for day to day operations.

• The Medical Director will work as a member of the Medical Staff Office (MSO) and in collaboration with Merakey leadership to ensure that all medical personnel meet regulatory requirements, comply with best practices, adhere to professional standards, and practice within the scope of internal policies and procedures. They will participate in decision making, policy development, the Medical Peer Review process, performance reviews, recruitment, supervisor and retention.

• Interfaces with County and State offices who monitor care provided by Merakey to ensure that medical operations follow all applicable regulatory and licensing regulations.

• Participates in compliance reviews, chart audits, and case consultations to ensure ongoing quality of care that advances the standards of all behavioral health and medical services.

• Promotes the Merakey goal for the extension of integration of care.

• Provides Medical Director duties and functions 10 hours per week and approximately 30 hours per week dedicated to ACT, DDTT and Residential direct patient care.

• Holds a current unrestricted licensure/certification, as required, to practice as a psychiatrist in the state of practice.

• Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or an equivalent certifying board.

• Previous experience and/or training with the intellectual disabilities population.

• DEA license.

• Management/Leadership experience preferred.

• Administrative or community mental health experience.

Schedule - 40 hours per week- 10 administrative hours, 30 patient care hours
