Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Medical Admin Assistant with a Public Trust Clearance to support Kadiak and our government customer in Washington, DC. This is a PRN opportunity.

Position Overview:
Koniag Government Services is seeking a PRN Medical Admin Assist in support of the Department of State, Burean of Medical Services.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the management of the administrative aspects and organization of the health care dealing with finances, human resources, equipment, and technology acquisition, working with management, and facilities maintenance.
  • Planning, business strategies, and developing new health care services
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • High School graduate or equivalent, additional course work or experience in the medical field
  • Verbal and communication skills
  • Must have strong inter-personal skills and ability to interact effectively with various clientele
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to multitask
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Basic computer skills: Email, Word, Excel, Power Point
Education/Certification:
Minimum education level:
  • High School graduate or equivalent, additional course work or 2 years' experience in the medical
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Valid Passport is preferred
  • Certified Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant certification- Preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training and possess current certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience working directly with government staff preferred
  • Experience supporting Federal business operations at a government site preferred
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust security clearance, per government requirements
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Perform components of physical exams under supervision of RN which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Vital signs - varies with different exam requirements
  • Audiometry
  • Vision testing
  • ECG
  • Spirometry
  • Lab Results
  • TB skin testing
  • Documentation of all clinical data on all required forms
  • Provides immunizations according to KGS policies, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Recognizes emergency situations and initiate appropriate resuscitative measures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task; ability to work efficiently in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Ability to schedule appointments
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Ensures clinical competence and stays abreast of changes in medical management
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must possess ability to speak and understand English.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Electronic Health Record Computer Skills:
Intermediate computer skills are essential in use of an electronic medical record.

Quality & Safety
  • Participates in quality management processes including encouragement of clinical support staff to assure proficiency in the delivery of clinical support activities
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities, data analysis and review to make improvements within clinic operations
Customer Service
  • Contacts clients to ensure their well-being as needed following clinic visits and when assigned to the telemonitoring schedule
  • Supports operational leaders in implementing and sustaining patient experience improvement initiatives
Governance
  • Completes and complies with written Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, and staff competencies
Metrics
Basic Analytical, conceptual, verbal, and written communication skills required

Physical Demands
  • Sustain repetitive movement (CPR compressions, etc.)
  • Maintain physical tolerance (stand/walk/work on your feet for 8-12 hours at a time)
  • Push, pull, lift 30 pounds of weight (position, transfer, ambulate patient, move equipment)
Working Environment & Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
