Materials Scheduler

Work Mode: Remote

Opportunity

This position will have responsibility for a specific set of MRP controller numbers or commodities. Will plan and maintain the throughput and inventory of component parts, work-in-process, and finished service parts to meet customer requirements. This position would be capable of working a hybrid or remote location schedule.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Analyze computerized requirements planning (MRP) to schedule all component parts under his/her control. This includes the issuance of purchase orders and manufacturing production orders.
  • Reschedule part orders based upon planning exceptions and changing requirements.  Take action to expedite and de-expedite parts as well as adjust based on any capacity restrictions. Advise status of part flow to due dates or of delays to necessary parties.
  • Establish ordering policies and stocking levels for parts.  Monitor and revise as necessary to ever changing needs and demands.
  • Maintain and control SAP master data to assure individual component data integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve blocked invoices due to quantity related issues.
  • Set high standards of performance by measuring and reducing inventory to increase turns.
  • Create schedules, determining priority, and recommend what to make/buy when working with 3rd party sub-contractors.
  • Monitor inbound containers and ensure timely and accurate transactions for Receiving
  • Serves as Buyer for plant-specific indirect products and services not under the responsibility of a Corporate Procurement buyer.
  • Monitor forecast consumption and provide feedback on demand changes.
  • Prepare reports & perform requests as assigned by supervision.

Relationships and Contacts

Supervisory Relationships:

  • Reports to Manager - Aftermarket Parts & Materials, WI Engines.

Organization Relationships:

  • Daily contact with the Engines and Kohler Power Systems Customer Service Teams on component / order status.
  • Daily contact with associates in the GPS Warehouse.
  • Frequent contact with Corporate Trucking and Traffic regarding inbound freight status.
  • Moderate contact with Engines / KPS Purchasing.

External Business Relationships:

  • Daily contact with Suppliers & 3rd Party Sub-Contractors on product delivery.

Skills/Requirements

  • High School diploma required.  Associates Degree in a Business / Operations Management related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years working in a manufacturing or purchasing environment, with planning and scheduling experience.
  • Experience in inventory management, ERP/MRP.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement, mathematical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Above average clerical skills preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Individual must possess strong characteristics in the areas of initiative, attitude, assertiveness, and urgency.
