The Manufacturing Operator 1 at MilliporeSigma will produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the needs of MilliporeSigma customers. The following tasks will be completed daily: Handle chemicals safely, understanding of chemical reactions and hazardsStage and de-stage materials and equipment using pallet mules, manual equipment, and PITVerify quality and integrity of material and equipment usedIdentify unsafe conditions and correct them. Complete Safety Observation/Near Miss report with suggestions to improve/prevent conditionParticipate in incident investigations and safety meetingsAchieve defined personal development goalsPerform in-process analytical testing, including workups and simple interpretations as described in the MPRIdentify malfunctions in equipment operation, and with appropriate approval, take corrective actionBasic job-related SAP applicationsShift: 3rd shift, Sun - Thu, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Degree in chemistry or other life science discipline OR 2+ years of college chemistryExperience working in a chemistry or other life science environmentEffective oral and written communication skills, mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skillsAbility to read and understand written protocolsAbility to operate forklift or hand pallet truck, hand tools, lab equipment, calculator and weighing and measuring devicesBasic understanding of ISO and quality systems
