Job Description

Position Overview

The Pre-Construction Contract Manager will be responsible for leading negotiations and execution of a portfolio of commercial transactions with utility and C&I project owners. Strong communication skills and the ability to form partnerships and influence key stakeholders are essential for this position. This position will work closely with the Invenergy Pre-Construction and Contracts teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage scope of work and technical specification review for external RFP proposal and pricing packages
  • Lead scope of work and technical specification negotiations on build transfer contracts with external parties/owners
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, finance, engineering, procurement, origination, development, and execution teams for full review and required inputs to contract negotiations and support
  • Surface and resolve issues in ongoing contract negotiations and reviews
  • Create, maintain, update and track documents and data related to renewable energy contracts
  • Track compliance with contract negotiation milestones and other deliverables
  • Ensure that expected costs and project performance are consistent with contract terms and conditions
  • Conduct internal project due diligence, constructability reviews, and risk assessment for projects being bid or in active contract negotiations for offtake or sale
  • Identify solution strategies and report key information to Invenergy management
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations and drive solutions toward company goals, de-risking projects and contracts along the way
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work with Origination, Development, and Engineering to develop competitive proposals to customers
  • Develop and support processes and process improvement initiatives to the contract review and approval process
  • Participate in the handover from Pre-Construction to Execution phase, including ensuring client commercial terms are successfully translated to Invenergy EPC contractor requirements
  • Additional duties as required

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in bidding and contracting, or project management
  • 3+ years progressive contract negotiation experience
  • Thorough understanding and implementation of projects in accordance with contracts
  • Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership and communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience negotiating wind and solar Build Transfer Agreements

Salary Range

$103,000 - $134,000
