VP - Operations Manager

We are seeking Operations Managers to oversee Proof Of Insurance functions in our Austin Center of Excellence. This opportunity will open the door to a career with one of the leading global insurance brokerage and risk management firms during an exciting time of expansion and transformation.

What can you expect?

  • You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of specialists in an insurance operations environment who are responsible for supporting our clients' Proof of Insurance document needs
  • You will be responsible for providing senior leadership with transactional updates, trends, and issues
  • Lead complex strategic initiatives involving matrixed organization, multiple sites and teams
  • You will work closely with key stakeholders including IT, Zone Leadership, Operational Leadership, and Finance to execute operational strategy and vision

We will count on you to:
  • Lead a team of direct reports, including supervisory staff, who support our clients and client team colleagues
  • Develop and engage team members through active coaching and mentoring
  • Partner across the organization including IT, Business, and Operational Leadership to execute strategy and vision
  • Lead, manage and execute on strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior members of our client support team to resolve issues and achieve high-quality outcomes
  • Continuously identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiencies, as well as participate, monitor, and/or oversee the initiatives
  • Lead and/or participate in stakeholder engagement sessions and work in partnership with client teams to improve the client experience
  • Communicate opportunities and challenges to senior leadership
  • Maintain and consistently review staffing needs
  • Remain current by understanding and following all Marsh compliance, professional, and transparency standards

What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree + minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - able to clearly articulate issues, problems, and resolutions within this field
  • Influence/persuasiveness - can explain why a process or rule needs to be followed and gain colleague support/change behavior as a result
  • Quality & Compliance -Ethical behavior; understanding of rules and why they need to be followed, but flexible enough to know when a solution is workable
  • Effective oral communication skills in a leadership environment and comfortable with presentation software (i.e. PowerPoint)
  • Drive and self-motivation - able to work independently, follow through on a task/complete a project/meet a deadline
  • Experience building and running a business with the right operational skills

What makes you stand out:
  • 7-10 years of professional leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in Commercial Lines insurance
  • Senior-level management experience
