As HR Manager - Delfield - you will be responsible for setting up local HR strategies working across multiple levels of management and employees to identify HR opportunities and then partner with the business and Global Product Line HR Managers to utilize systems and develop processes to create sustainable solutions in the areas of employee and labor relations, compensation, recruitment, training and development and compliance that drive organizational performance.

Reporting directly to the HR Business Partner, Delfield - this position is located in Mt. Pleasant, MI*.

Major Accountability:

  • Effectiveness of local HR and talent programs
  • Adoption and implementation of HR programs locally
  • Employee and labor relations
  • Employee engagement and retention
  • Local workforce planning and forecasting
  • Statutory/regulatory compliance
Essential Job Functions:
  • Partner with site leadership to identify local priorities and develop a site HR strategy aligned with the identified site needs.
  • Manage all employee and labor relations issues including conducting investigations, recommending corrective actions, and consulting with management on the appropriate follow through.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to site leadership related to the coaching, counseling, and career development of employees.
  • Partner with site leadership on developing and implementing local programs to drive improvements in employee engagement and retention.
  • Facilitate performance and compensation reviews for the site working with the HR COE and Global Product Line HR leads, as necessary.
  • Identify and facilitate supervisory and employee development programs including development of succession plans for key site leadership roles and establishing metrics to assess training effectiveness.
  • Partner with site leadership on workforce planning and forecasting activities focused on talent pipeline development and flexibility in resource management.
  • Manage the site recruitment activities working collaboratively with the HR COE.
  • Monitor local labor market trends, market conditions, and the competitive employment landscape to assess potential impacts for the site.
  • Assess and manage compliance needs for the site including required statutory/regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. EEO-1, Affirmative Action)
  • Coordinate communication activities including bulletin boards, focus groups, quarterly meetings, newsletters and other communication systems and programs.
  • Focus on Continuous Improvements to enhance support to the business.
  • Collaborate with other brands and share best practices.
Qualifications - External

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Human Resources or related field; with a minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources with strong focus on talent management and Employment Relations is required. Will consider a minimum of 9 years of Human Resources experience in lieu of degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong internal consulting skills, with ability to champion and influence change and a willingness to take risks.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and technologies including use of HR data analytics to drive business decisions.
  • Strong conflict management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and often emotional issues.
  • Strong customer focus and service with a demonstrated ability to challenge when necessary.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and independently determine and take appropriate action within defined HR policies and procedures.
  • Must be fluent in English language.
  • Must possess strong Microsoft Suite skills.
*The Delfield Company in Mt. Pleasant, MI manufactures and markets a complete line of foodservice equipment for restaurants, hotels, and institutions (including prep tables, undercounter/worktop refrigeration, and blast chillers/freezers) and specializes in custom and reach-in refrigeration.
