The Continuous Improvement Manager in Franklin WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility that is slated to open in 2023 and will play an integral part of Saputo's strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Saputo has a strong history in Wisconsin and are proud to be expanding our footprint in this area.

The Manager in this role will facilitate business teams and will be responsible for managing Process Improvement initiatives utilizing the Management Operating System (MOS). They are responsible for leveraging processes and executing process overhaul and/or upgrade programs for the organization at the local level. In addition, the role will take responsibility for coaching, training, communications, base lining, auditing, identifying, and transferring best practices externally and internally.

How you will make contributions that matter...

  • Act as an internal consultant for location to lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities.
  • Coach and champion functions to identify and implement opportunities to improve program and process effectiveness.
  • Plan and coordinate training to others who will support the Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste/cost of poor performance at the plant level.
  • Apply analysis to improve efficiencies and process capability.
  • Prepare and present oral and written presentations to internal/external teams.
  • Design, drive and perform operational analysis of business processes. Drive and track these projects to successful completion.
  • Document and institutionalizes using controls and scorecards to ensure lasting project benefits. Identifies and leverages best practices across the organization.
  • Identifies key elements of process improvement and partners with process owners to deliver sustainable and repeatable change. Develops and prepare metrics and related reports.
  • Prepare and present reports, results, and data to the Executive team.
  • Conduct regular and periodic audits of the Management Operating System.
  • Facilitate the development of action plans to variances as identified through the audit process.
  • Facilitate the CI process, steering committee, and corrective teams.
  • Provide technical direction/guidance to personnel as required.
  • Function as facility Process Improvement champion regarding tasks, projects, cost and yield improvement opportunities and operations.
  • Travel as needed to partner with other facilities, participate in continuous improvement committees to share best practice with other locations.

You are best suited for the role if you...
  • have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
  • have a Lean, Six Sigma, and/ or other Continuous Improvement certification, Blackbelt certification a plus.
  • demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • have advanced math and statistical problem-solving skills.
  • have a good understanding of budgeting and cost control.
  • can apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions and mathematical calculations.
  • have the ability to prioritize and organize
  • have the ability to demonstrate superb decision-making ability to determine best course of action in assessing test results.
  • are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
  • can comfortably adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • can read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and mathematical calculations.
  • can write and document procedures, reports, and other documents in a professional business format.
  • have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
