As a member of the Anomaly Detection team, this individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the certification of market data for the Technology business. This role will focus on several key aspects of the business, including but not limited to ensuring data accuracy, identifying data anomalies, investigating drivers of market trend changes and resolving data issues or inquiries. This person will stay aligned with industry trends and clients' changing needs in order to actively improve data and client satisfaction within their industry. This individual will interact with several key stakeholders across the organization including Sales, Client Development, Retail Business Group, Operations, and Research Science in order achieve their objectives and the quality of NPD data. He/she will be required to work cross-functionally to address data quality concerns, communicate decisions and certify data to NPD clients.

This position will be based in Port Washington, NY.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Help to define the standards of data quality and ensure monthly data certification.
  • Lead investigations and resolve data discrepancies as necessary, communicating to key stakeholders as needed.
  • Drive process improvement by identifying and implementing changes that will improve data quality and/or create efficiencies.
  • Determine root causes of any issues that have been identified and create preventative measures to avoid future risks.
  • Provide ongoing reporting that identifies changes in trends, provides impact analysis and identifies data anomalies.
  • Tranlate client needs into product enhancements to increase client satisfaction with NPD data.
  • Stay abreast of assigned industries and align with Industry Analysts to ensure a consistent point-of-view on industry trends.
  • Proactively evaluate data quality metrics relative to objectives and implement enhancements and or improvements as needed.


Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • 5+ years or more in similar role
  • Experience in analytics, data management or data manipulation
  • Enjoys identifying anomalies in data and leading the journey to resolution
  • Expert in all MS Office products. (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
  • Thrives in an independent environment and confident taking ownership of tasks
  • Strong experience working with POS and/or Consumer data
  • Background in Technology is a plus
  • Prior experience with NPD software and data a plus.
  • Proven success working in Tableau, Alteryx or the equivalent a plus.

The ideal candidate must be able to effectively articulate data findings and provide recommendations on changes to the product portfolio in a clear and concise manner to a diverse audience. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD's products and services, or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable and effective when talking with a broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the prospective customer's organization.
