Job Description
The Major Gifts Associate is a key member of the Major and Planned Giving teams, supporting the major gift fundraising program for the Long Island market and for WNET's Planned Giving program. Key responsibilities include:

* Manage giving and solicitations for WNET specifically targeting support from Long Island, including drafting request letters, overseeing follow-up and tracking in SalesForce database;
* Assist with SalesForce updates and responses to donor inquiries/survey responses resulting from a new Planned Giving marketing initiative, and other Planned Giving inquiries;
* Assist with oversight of the Planned Giving microsite;
* Draft and edit WLIW (and other) donor proposals and reports, as needed;
* Create collateral and "one-sheet" materials for key programs and series for WLIW21 and WLIW-FM;
* Draft donor messaging including emails, on-air recognition notifications and acknowledgments;
* Work closely with Development Operations to create Planned Giving and WLIW dashboards, reports and invitation lists, and monitor and maintain data integrity in SalesForce database, in keeping with industry best practices;
* Support in-person and virtual fundraising events for the Long Island market, and WNET, as needed;
* Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have two years of experience in non-profit fundraising/development, preferably in individual giving. In addition, candidates must be highly organized with attention to detail; possess superior people skills, the ability to take initiative, and work effectively and flexibly in a fast-paced, team environment. Effective interpersonal and communications skills, including excellent writing and editing skills will be needed; proficiency with MS Office required (especially Word, Excel and mail merge functions) and fundraising databases.

Candidates with a BA/BS and or experience working with Salesforce are preferred.
